Contra Punctum Exhibition Identity

counterpoint (it. contrappunto < lot. (punctus) contra punctum – point against point) Individual issues and contemporary concerns are reflected in the expression of the anthropological term punctum: a person’s character, alongside with their traits and interests, is complemented by pressing matters, analyzing and addressing problems with chosen methods for their exploration. This exhibition has no "center" – instead, the focus is placed on independent installations, where personal narratives resonate within a collective, forming a harmonious contra-punctum transformation. Distinctive, questioning and answering, emphasizing and complementing one another – the wide range of installation themes highlights unresolved dilemmas of the modern world: the perception of identity, the psychological horizon of emotions and collective traumas, the relationship with a changing environment or one's own phase of life, the (un)necessity of self-censorship, and the alienated sense of mythological time. During the exhibition, visitors will be invited to explore and interact with typographic installations, seeking their own personal connection to the psychological, social, and cultural themes being examined.
